DIRECTIONS

From the Portland airport head south on I-205 (use the right lane from the airport). Look for signs that say “I-84 East – The Dalles.” Take I-84 East for approx 45 miles to Hood River. Take Exit 64 towards Mt. Hood and turn left onto Button Bridge Rd/US-30. Button Bridge Rd becomes Hood River Bridge, a toll bridge so make sure to bring some change. Once across the bridge, turn left onto WA - 14. After about 1.7 miles, turn right onto Cook Underwood Rd. Go approximately 3.5 miles and turn right onto Kollock Knapp Rd. Gorge Crest (461 Kollock Knapp Rd) is just past the 2nd driveway past Scoggins Rd, about 1 mile. Turn right on the gravel driveway between the pear orchard.

THINGS TO DO

We would like to invite all of our guests to join us Saturday, May 24th in the morning for a few hours of white water rafting. We will go as a large group together down the White Salmon River. Please contact Ty for more info and we will keep you posted.

Things to do in and around Hood River, recommendations from Ty and Em:

Stroll and taste the goods at: Hood River Saturday Market at 5th and Cascade on Saturdays 9-3pm

Take a drive across the: Bridge of The Gods. Stop in Stevenson, WA on your way back for Granny Gedunk’s Ice Cream or a cold one at Walking Man Brewery.

Check out, especially if you are a Lewis and Clark buff, the: Columbia Gorge Discovery Center

Local food and beverage tasting your thing? Get it all at: The Gorge White House

See a part of WPA History and great views at the: Timberline Lodge

Spend a day outside checking on the wildlife: Oregon Cascades Birding Trail

Spend a day wine tasting. There are many, many wineries in the Gorge area: Highly recommended Cathedral Ridge Winery

Em’s favorite springtime hike: Dog Mountain. The hike is about 7 miles round trip. Blanketed with wildflowers, the trail is quite steep. The perseverant will be rewarded with excellent views and friendly conversations at the top. To get to Dog Mountain from Hood River, go across the bridge to WA, Take your first Left and head west on Hwy 14. Go about 12 miles ( Past Cook). You will come to a LARGE dirt parking lot on your right side- trail head is on the east edge of the parking lot. After you are finished reward yourself with a drive to Stevenson and grab some ice cream (Granny’ Gedunks) or a brew (Walking Man). To get to Stevenson just keep heading west on Hwy 14. From Stevenson, head West a little further, cross to Oregon on the Bridge of the Gods and then take 80 East to Hood River.

Take some lessons or at least go watch: Windsurfing and Kite Boarding
